Here's a good rule of thumb, especially if you're 16 or younger (which most people on their first dates are)

- first date - holding hands
- second date - hug
- third date - kiss

Set your own limitations, and don't let him pressure you into anything you aren't comfortable with.

That's a tough question since we don't know either of you. If this is your first date *ever*, I'd say that sitting close during the movie is about as far as you should go. If this isn't your "first" but is the first date with this specific guy, the only thing I can suggest is, pretend like your parents are watching. Take your time. You'll never be young again. If he's too impatient then he's not the right guy for you. Wear something comfortable and not too revealing. Kiss him only if you feel very comfortable doing so. That's a decision only you can make... but, again, if he's not patient, or pressures you, leave him in the dust. He's not worthy of your company. He may seem like "the coolest guy in the world" but if you think about it, if he's trying to get you to do something you're not ready to do, he's not cool at all. There are a whole bunch of guys that would be more than willing to date you and honor your wishes. A relationship must be an agreement between 2 people. If one side doesn't agree (he insists on kissing, whether you like it or not) then there really is no relationship. Move on.

If you are younger than 16, than the person who gave the 3 date rule then kiss, that's good. If your older, I say, as a guy, I like women who are sure enough of themselves to make the first move. Face it, most guys including me, are unsure unless things are really going well, or if alcohol is involved, you know the old liquid courage thing. And there is no rule about when it's right, if it is, you will know, look for the signs, gazing into each others eyes, and licking of the lips is a dead giveaway, or if you find each other looking at each others lips alot.

Wear what you used to wear ... there is nothing special about first date. Don't expect to be cuddled or kissed. You don't even know him enough to give it to him unless you wanted to badly yourself. Whatever it is, be sure what you are doing... he may not end up the type you wanted and you might get cheated. Be natural and let things go flow. Don't over do things as you might frighten him off.

Don't cuddle, he'll think you're clingy and it might drive him away.
Just act like friends, don't worry about kissing him yet, better worry abour wether you guys'll get along or not.
Wear something simple but cute; i think a cute t-shirt will do. Don't overdress 'cause he might think you're desperate.

okk... so, wear something cute, like a cute jacket and shirt, jeans, and ugg boots, and have your jeans tucked into your ugg boots if they are the tall kinds... you dont have to kiss him, it should come naturally, like it should be a "moment" where both of you want to kiss. and let him lean in first. you dont have to cuddle with him, but for him itd be nice cause it shows that you really like him. and that will lead to a sooner kiss cause then he wont be nervous and thinking that you dont like him... have fun!!!

something "conservative" but pretty
only a small peck as you end date
cuddling, you can get close but cuddling "could lead to disaster"
maybe on the third date.
