i was planning on spending a day or two in each of the following Milan, Rome, Florence, and Venice... I've never been any suggestions regarding cities and specific places to go in each and things that happen that time of year? Thanks.

Hi,

If this are your first visit, do the touristic routes (Tuscany, Rome, Venice, Florence etc..)
But try to visit some of the smaller cities such as. Spoleto, Folignio, Montefalco and Orvieto in Umbria (You won't regret it!).

Have some more tips here:

PS!
Do have a look at these Italy related Articles:

Have a nice trip!

U have just 8 days... Here we go:

Start from the North: 1 day in Milan, 1 day in Venice, 1/2 day in Verona,1 day in Florence,2 days in Rome, 1 day Napoly, then you def. have to see Sicilia: Catania (Etna), Taormina, Siracusa and, if you have the time: Palermo.

florence, tuscany......of course do all of the touristy things, but make a point of going out of the way places, too. you want to experience italy on a more personal level than just a tourist level.
