when I click my name on the welcome screem (in win XP), under my name it says "loading personal settings..." and it freezes like that. Whole computer get stuck and can't do anything. Then I have to hold the power button to turn off.

Does anyone know how can I fix this problem?

Press F8 before you get to the xp booting screen. then chose the safe mode option. backup your files and renew your user

Actually this is an old problem with XP. Usually caused by issue with the network controller card.

- Make sure you have SP2 installed
- If you do, then you need to delete the network connection under Device Manager, Network Adapters, and then reboot. XP will find a "new adapter" and remake it. Reboot again and see if that doesn't solve it.

ohh I feel sorry 4 ya, I used to have this problem and I didn't know what to do but it sort of stoped now although it sometimes freaks me out

if you have a cd in your drive take it out
make sure you dont have a cd in there when you turn it off
