christ.. its metal piercing through flesh.. its not going to feel like kittens are licking you.
pinch your belly button with your thumb and pointer finger.. as hard as you can. now thats the pain multiplied by 5. but that will last a brief few seconds. once the jewlery is in, you'll be sore, and possibly have a dull throbbing pain. take an advil or any anti inflamitory to help with the pain. after a few days the pain will lessen, and as it heals, the soreness will subside.

I wished people would have told me the truth before I got it done.. lol Just kidding... Everyone is different. Mine hurt REALLY bad! About a 9. The pain of the needle and jewelry going through was the worse part. After I left it was a little sore but bearable. I also have my lip pierced and my belly button hurt worse. Worth it though!

I waited six years to get my belly pierced because I was too chicken of the pain. Once I did it, I wished I would have years ago. The initial piercing hurt less than getting my ears done. Make sure the use a needle. Quick and easy. Only it was sore for a few weeks afterward.

Mine didn't hurt when they were piercing it , it just hurt when they were trading the jewelry in (I had a hoop) but it wasn't that bad just a pinching feeling. It was my first piercing I got it when I was 11 and I had second thought when I got there but it really wasn't bad. If you hurt take a Tylenol after that's what they tell you to do anyways.

pinch your skin really hard where you would get it pierced but use your nails as you do it, it feels like that but some more too. It's not going to be the most pleasant feeling but it will be fine. I had second thoughts about mine but now as i look back im glad i got it. good luck and let us know how it goes!!

I got mine 4 years ago... I have a tiny belly button, so there wasn't much skin to pinch, so it actually hurt more, but it wasn't anything that I felt like i was going to pass out. Just a pinch... One thing though... be careful what kind of pants you wear soon after... Catching it on your jeans or on a zipper hurts worse than when you get it pierced if you ask me.

It hurt more than you'll even know. Imagine the worst pain you've ever had... having a baby feels like a picnic compared to it.
For goodness sakes, it's a piercing, don't be a baby, it lasts for like 2 seconds.
Why would you get your back pierced? That's stupid.

For me, it didn't hurt one bit!! I mean i felt it but it didn't hurt, but only because they numbed it :)
-So that night after getting it pierced I mean I could feel that it was there but didn't hurt at all. But I mean after a few months and stuff when it was healing, it was a little sore. My advice: do what i did-
1. get it numbed
2. take really good care of it and
3. don't overclean -I don't know why they just said not to so I didn't! I hope my advice helped :)

It hurts for about a week. But after that it has killed all the nerves in your belly button.
