Sounds like the grooming experience did trigger something. If she had a bad experience there (and I suspect if she was very matted and had never been groomed before, it was traumatic for her)...she may be a bit nervous about people touching her face or feet. Also, and you'll think I'm crazy...but dogs DO get embarassed. If you laughed when you saw her after she was shaved, she probably had her feelings hurt. Try to get her into a good mood and play with her. While you're playing, touch her mouth and her feet so she knows that not ALL touches to those areas are negative. When you scolded her and then reached for her mouth, your tone was understandably negative, but the last time someone touched her mouth, that experience was also negative. When she DOES bare her teeth, use that embarassment! Shame her. Don't yell or hit her...but talk to her in a tone like you would a child who just pulled his sister's hair. She'll get the message. Also, be sure to tell her how pretty she is. Of course, she won't understand any of the words, but she'll understand the tone. Good luck!

Not a dog fan but I have been around animals most of my life. Cattle, horses, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, etc. If an animal has been mistreated by someone or something they don't forget. They all act differently. They will act out in many ways. I am not accusing your dog grommer of any misdeed but, I would not bring the dog to them again,,,,,,,It could take you forever to undo something that you didn't do to upset the dog....Be patien ..I am pretty damn fussy even with my choice of Vets for them same reason...If the Vet bothers me in the way they treat any of my animals I give my appoligies and go to another..

have you ever taken the dog to these groomers before they might have been mean to her while she was there this might be the sudden biting problem she apparently felt threatened when you went to take her off the couch since she just got this behavior after going to the groomers it makes me wonder if she might have been mistreated while she was there i'd check this out

If my dog ever snapped or acted viciously towards me. I would scare the living sh*t out the dog and let it know who is boss.
No tolerance for dogs thinking for even a second that they are an equal let alone the boss.
Multiple offenses would be be met with a trip to the vet and a meeting with the blue juiced needle.

i think that's the poodle side coming out...my poodle was like that!
Dogs are very proud of their appearance, whenever my dog gets groomed, he prances like a show horse and LOVES to be told how beautiful he is.
Start appealing to her vanity a little...
