you may not know why--sometimes it's comparing your christmas to former christmases that were more picture perfect. My father died this year so it's a new phase for us. Try new traditions, find others who need help and do some random acts of kindness anonymously.

Sweetie, I can't tell you why you've got the Christmas blahs, but I can tell you that you are in no way alone! I am very apathetic towards my family, who are naturally the people who continue to invite themselves over for the holidays, year after year. I have to agree with those who say to do some volunteer work and help those less fortunate--I really wanted to help out at a mission or homeless shelter serving Christmas dinner since I already have (and have had) so much, but company invited themselves over before I could make plans, so it'll be the same old same old on Monday. But next year...next year is all mine and I intend to do some good with it.
Here's to the 26th! :)

Sometimes...expectations don't live up to reality. Christmas (aside from its religious affiliation) is also supposed to be a time where we celebrate Peace on Earth and Goodwill To All. It's hardly been a year for that has it? Our soliders and innocent civilians are are dying for a lie, our leaders are hypocrites and fools... and everywhere you look, the world is full of horror. My suggestion? Do something selfless to help another. Adopt a needy family, donate money to an animal shelter, send a letter to a soldier abroad. Make an effort to look past the materialism of the season and do something wonderful instead.

I think you should do something that truly captures the spirit of Christmas.
Go and buy a big bag of chocolates and take them down to an orphanage or children's hospital ward. See the smiles on the little faces - your heart will flame with Christmas cheer - as will the kiddies!!
Merry Christmas

Change your intentions. They jurisdict most everything you feel or get from lt. There's a difference between hoping something but expecting the worst, and truly intending something. You know this differential. Intend to feel Christmassy, as you put it. You'll be Amazed at what you get back.

I'm sorry you're not having a very happy time this year. Don't feel bad neither am I. Last year this time On this exact day my boyfriend proposed and not to mention it is my birthday also. This year we have just broken up and he didn't even bother to call and wish me a happy birthday. I am so ready for all this Christmas stuff to be over with.Merry Christmas...yea right.

i noticed that i don't really feel like "Christmas" this year either. i figured out the cause of mine. usually every year i'm bombarded by Christmas music and as annoying as it is, it's still nice to hear. this year i haven't heard hardly any and i think that's the problem. sometimes the holidays just aren't fun anymore. there are too many people in the stores. there's always conflict about who's going where for what. sometimes you just have to take a holiday for yourself.
