My boyfriend's friend was making him choose between him and me(his g/f). He chose to take his friend's side. He said something like his friend had a point. My friend and I were going to walk away, I wasn't gonna break-up with him. But then his friend high-fived him and was like "Bros before Ho's Dude." This pissed me off. I went up to my b/f, slapped him, and told his to have fun kissing his "bro". I told him to not call me or talk to me. I said we were through and walked away.
Was I too mean??

Slapping people is not a good idea - violence is always wrong.
But yes, you were totally entitled to be upset and furious about the break-up. These two guys sound very immature and the "bros before hos" comment was totally unnecessary. Your comeback was excellent. if some vague macho ideal is more important to him than having an honest, loving relationship with you, then he a LOSER and you are lucky to be rid of him.

i CANT believe guys sometimes. they're SO ridiculous. you were absolutely right to break up with him, because if he really deserved you, he would have come after you. that said, though, you can probably cut him a little slack now and the slap miiight have been over the top, because his friend was the one saying the bogus stuff, not your (now) ex. if he was going along with that and laughing, though, you did the right thing and i hope you stick to it. he DID come after you though, so if he keeps trying, give him another chance. in the meantime, see the movie "the last kiss". he should have to do what zach braff does to win you back. :-)... or something close-ish.

Who cares that it is before X-mas when you broke up with him? He did not care about your feelings!!! He sounds very immature and you deserve much better!!! U feel bad because you are a descent, nice person and he forced your meaness to come out!!! I would have done the same thing!!! And, no...not all guys are like this!!! Only the immature ones do this!! Good luck on finding yourself a mature, fine man!!!

Maybe the slapping was a little extreme but if he is going to take his friend's side that is immature. He shouldn't have to choose. I would have said forget it too him too. Don't worry that it is Christmas. If he were such a good friend he wouldn't have chosen his guy friend and would have stuck up for you.

I think it depends on the rest of your relationship.
If he normally is a wonderful guy, I might be tempted to give him a second chance, but you were definitely not too mean considering what his friend called you. You can forgive him and take him back, but you had every right to snap at that!

No. I truly believe you handle yourself well. You were disrespected and you stood up for yourself. Now he understands that women need to be respected unless.....

I can see why you broke up with him but slapping him in his face like that was mean. How would you like it if he slapped you in the face. Now can he go around claiming you abused him??
