I think this is a great "text book" to learn colloquialism of foreign languages. What do you think?

I'm French and I like to go to the English version because I can practice. But people have to be careful because there are plenty of mistakes on the website - actually, French people also make plenty of mistakes as well.

But you're right: you learn plenty of expressions and, if you have a good grasp of grammar (usually the case for foreigners), it's a good exercise to learn new expressions and try to write fluently without being too influenced by poor spelling and bad grammar (although if you go to the French version, it might be difficult to avoid that).

I sincerely hope this isn't the only means you're learning English from...
I know of a website, www.wordreference.com, and they have a forum where people can ask questions about anything (nothing rude, of course!), such as different cultures and customs, colloquial slang in different languages and so on. I find it very useful as I ask questions about grammar etc mostly for French, and there are always people willing to help.
I think Yahoo Answers isn't the best, because as you may have noticed, some people don't bother writing out whole correct sentences which can hinder your English learning. And, colloquialism differs depending on which area you're in anway, American English, British English and even New Zealand English have their own use of slang and colloquialism.
Best of luck for you in learning English :)

I agree with you. Actually, I'm learning English here. I admit there are lots of wrong English here but I think the most important thing is to learn with fun, which gets me to continuing to do.
