i get nervous. and when i get nervous i get "dumb" my mind goes completely blank! what can i do to not be so nervous especially when i'm the center of attention? i did an oral presentation today for class and i was a nervous wreck! eek!

Try some relaxation and visualization techniques; they should help. In addition, practice what you will say so much that you are OVERLY prepared.

I would suggest going first if there is a line of people. It's hard, but afterwards, you'll be so relieved that it's over and you won't have to sit there, getting more nervous while others go!
Also, the night before, try to practice out loud how you are going to give your speech, and take notes up with you. Try making Visual aides- the teacher will think you did it for the class, but they could help you, too!
I would see your doc about possibly getting some anti-anxiety medication for situations like these, too.

Before you do your speech, play some really upbeat music in your room and just dance and sing to your favorite song. When you aIl happy and hyper, thats the time to stop. It works, trust me!!
