Not only fake but a major source of congestion on the internet. You send to ten people they each send to ten. It doesn't take long to have over a million e-mails out there about nothing slowing everything else down.

Chain letters are a waste of everyone's time. I usually scroll to the end and when they say forward to # of people, etc...etc.. I request from whoever sent it to me to please refrain from doing it again or they will be blocked.
