Untreated Bipolar disorder gets worse. If a person is treated, it can improve greatly. There are new medications all of the time and something will work well without many bad side effects.

Untreated or if not properly treated the episodes will get worse over time. So if a person goes through the proper therapy and is properly medicated then the prognosis is good. Just because things get better doesn't mean it's time to go off medications. So bipolar can get better overtime with proper treatment.

Not necessarily. I know someone who was bypolar all through school. Now he's a very successful disc jockey. He went through some rough times though.

As someone who is bipolar/manic depressive, I can tell you that with time I've gotten much better. The weaning off of the medication began a few months ago. Very glad of that. I was also fortunate in that I wasn't that bad to begin with, and got treatment and counseling early on.

Hope this answers your question.

Depends, it could get either better or worse over time. Depends on the amount of stress the person has, their medication, etc.
