General consensus is absolutely not. But some studies have shown that very small amounts of wine, especially red wine won't harm the fetus and might reduce stress for the mother.

i take it you mean pregnant? No, alcohol is not recommended in any form while pregnant. It can cause miscarriage in the early stages, abnormalities of the fetus, low birth weight, and if a woman is a heavy drinker it can cause stillborn babies.
Only in the last few months an update was given about alcohol guidelines in the west concerning pregnancy. They now say its not safe at ANY stage to drink alcohol.

American obstetricians generally prefer the hard line to prevent their patients overdoing, but an occasional glass is almost certainly fine.

I would be careful about drinking at all when pregnant. It is not worth the risk of harming your baby

In T.I.P.S. we learned that sometimes later in the pregnancy it does neither harm nor good for the baby, but does help the mother in some way, I cant remember exactly. But it doesnt hurt the child at any rate.
