Deep breathing exercises will help.

hold 3
inhale 3-4

do reps of 3

repeat as needed

Well, it sounds like you need to talk to a doctor about this. Anxiety and stress are normal for everyone. Especially before a big event or test. But to be experiencing the symptoms to the point where it's hard for you to function, or if they are lasting days or weeks- that's not normal. A doc can prescribe meds for you that will help. If you need something ASAP, I'd try Kava Kava, an herb. Or Melatonin, St. John's Wort, or try inhaling some lavender oil or scent.
Most of all, try to lay down, deep breathe, relax! The worst thing that can happen is you will fail your test- and that's no big deal. A lot of people fail the first time, and you can retake it!

1) You have to recognize what it is that is causing all the anxiety
2) Avoid those situations

You have to realize that some things you just cannot change and have to accept. If you are still having problems, then seriously, go see your doctor. You don't have to go see a psych - you can go see your primary Dr. My husband had major anxiety while trying to speak to crowds or in groups...He would have the same symptoms. They put him on Paxil for a while, but he didn't like that and stopped taking it (weaned himself off). Those meds can cause some damage to you if you just stop.

He is much better now, he has acknowledged the problem and has continued with it...in most cases, ask yourself - What is there to be so afraid/anxious about?

Anxiety attacks are usually caused from anticipating something that we feel we have no control over. Hence the driving test.

The best thing you can do is when you feel one coming on, find something else to do to take your mind off of the attack coming on. Take some deep breaths, and try to make yourself relax.
Take a long bath to relax yourself, take a walk, read a book, watch a favorite movie, etc.

You will do fine with your test. Just look at it this way, you are either prepared or you aren't and you will either pass it or you won't. Nothing more can happen than that. If you pass it, HURRAY! If you don't, just give yourself some more time of driving then you will do better next time.

Good luck!

There are many things you can take to relieve anxiety- no shame in that, just ask a doctor to prescribe something for you. For the long trem, you may want to seek professional counseling to find out why you suffer symptoms like these in anticipation of something like a driving test. I suspect there is something deeper lurking below the surface. You'll feel much better if you learn
( with help) how to release and relax.

Just go to your family doctor dear...

A temporary sedative is all you need for now.

Xanax or Tranxene probably.

If this kinda thing happens to you a lot, then I'd say maybe you need to be on Zoloft or Paxil.

Any doctor, not necessarily a psychiatrist, can treat anxiety disorder.

Namaste,

Try mental rehearsing the test. Go over the test in your mind as much as possible. Think about what you are SUPPOSED to do and think about any possible scenerio and how you are SUPPOSED to react to that. Study the written info as much as possible and eat blueberries (they are brainfood). When you start to stress, just yell at yourself- say "NO" to yourself and replace those thoughts/feelings with what will happen. Believe me this works! Don't start taking drugs for something like this. Even if you were to fail the test, they allow you to do re-takes. It's not a big deal. Really, have you ever heard of anyone who never got a license because they coudn't pass the test. No, of course not. It will come and you will do fine. Good Luck!

probably an anxiety disorder. try to find out what triggers these events if they arent constant. guided imagery helps, meditation, yoga, or just focusing on your breathing. acknowledging your anxious and try to slow it down and remain focused on it. I know it sounds silly but it works. Otherwise....see your Dr. and tell him whats up...maybe meds are in order. but i would try this first. good luck!
