Question about airsoft gas pistols.?
how fast can a airsoft gun go with green gas?
what is green gas made out of?
is it enough speed to go through skin?
like in paintball, do u have to hold a gun that has a bottle of gas sticked to it, if not, then how do u put the gas in it?
what type of gas does a blowback pistol use?

ok in this order:

1: airsoft gas guns can fire (with greengas) between 210 and 700+ feet persecond, it depends on the gun but i'll tell you that 9 times out of 10 a blow back gun is going to be weaker and less gas efficient because the gas that throws the slide back detracts from the power behind the bb.

2: Greengas is a propane-silicon mixture, the silicon is added to lubricate the gun parts as it fires. you can buy a straight propane adapter for most guns so you can use a huge tank of propane like for a grill but you will need to maintain the gun with lubricants more often.

3: *some* can pierce skin. guns such as the 'carbine snipers' sold on places like shortyusa.com (forget full title of gun) shoot 650-700 fps. those guns will break skin and lodge in muscle... if you shot someone near a major artery, say, in the neck it can feasibly kill them but most pistols only shoot around 410 and will break skin w/ a bad welt, some may be lodged in flesh at very close range.... just be careful and you should be fine.

4:no you do not need an external gas tank for a gas airsoft gun. the magazines in gas guns are usually gas injected, meaning they have a resovoir in them. you fill the clip from a tank, put ur bullets in and load it into the gun. the CO2 powered guns (yes there are some) use a 12 gram co2 capsule that you can find at wallmart or any sporting goods store and have a thinner stick magazine, the co2 canister is loaded into the grip of the gun.

5: gas blowback pistols usually use greengas but there are also some co2 guns. there are mroe greengas models available for airsoft than co2 and greengas is a better bet (they are usually more efficient, look better, preform stronger, and are higher quality guns.)

hope that helps ya out n.n

happy shooting.

Generally speaking, a normal GBB will run about 300-330 w/ green gas. Upgraded guns i've seen up to 450. The only gas gun ive seen exceed 500fps was a CO2 uzi, so my assumption is 450-500 is the tops for green gas. Green gas is Propane gas.
350+ fps will damage skin while 400+ will break it. Through? no. The gas for a gas blowback pistol goes in the bottom of the magazine. And last but not least, HFC134a (refrigerant) and Propane. Those are the few i know of. Western Arms makes the best pistols, with Marui and KSC make good stuff too. I dont trust many of those tawanise guns, they have too many longevity issues (they die too quick). Good luck bud.

Alot of Airsoft and paintball guns use the same gas (Co2, carbon dioxide), just in different amounts. An airsoft gun can reach upwards of 800 feet per second (only the very high end guns can do that), most only go between 150 and 400fps. The green gas is Co2. No, airsoft is incredibly weak and will not penetrate the skin (though it might leave bruises). I dont understand question #4. Blowback pistols can be either electric or green gas powered.

Airsoft guns DO NOT use oxygen.

air soft.....hence the term AIR...it uses oxygen. I don't think you are able to hook up any type of gass to them.....but I'm not for sure.
