Every single drug that has been given FDA approval was tested on animals before it went to human trials, and many drugs which never made it to market but may have provided useful information went through animal trials.
Animal testing is currently an indespensible part of the process for developing safe and effective drugs, until we develop a better way, if we want medical research, we're stuck with it.
