Look at various products from actual haircare professionals, such as John Freida and of course Frederic Fekkai. They each carry a variety of products for colored hair. Try places like ULTA if you want to go in person, but also always try the internet when looking for them.

are they filling the brown chuncks before appling the brown? if you are using a product heavy in wax (pantene, anything non professional) could also be the cause.
Redken, paul mitchell are some affordable ones, pureology is my favorite but it is pricey.
Get a chemistry also to lock in the color

I am naturally a brunette who dyes my hair strawberry blonde and I use nothing but Nexus. It keeps my hair soft and as brilliant as the day I first colored it.
