You can try pushing *67 and then the number you're dialing. Alternatively you can call your telephone company and have them put a Caller ID block on your line which will prevent your number from being displayed. If you use this method then you will have to dial *82 before calling if you did want your number to show up.

The first way is to first dial *67 (or 1167 from rotary dial phones) then dial the number you want. Your number will not show up, it'll say "private" or "anonymous" instead.

Another way, for a charge, is to place the call through an operator.

You could also use a pay phone. Even if the number shows up, it's not your number.

If your calling from your cell phone if you go to "settings" in your phone and select the "call setup" option you can go in there and change your id to block itself when calling out. From cell to cell its different but it should be in your settings somewhere. Also, like everyone else said if its a land line then *67... but that doesn't always work..

In my area if you punch in *67 before dialing it won't show up. You need to pause for a moment after entering *67 before continuing to dial. Check with your phone company for what you need to enter.
