Does it have a limit on the amount of reimbursements I can send?It says, "We will pay personal injury protection benefits because of bodily injury resulting from a motor vehicle accident and sustained by a covered person. Our payment will only be for losses or expenses incurred within three years from the date of the accident." When I was talking to them on the phone, she said there was a limit of $2500 of the amt of reimbursements but this doesnt say that.

Bostonian: I don't have a copy of the policy. I had it years ago but it's long lost. On the phone she said I had coverage for $2500 of reimbursement coverage. I was at faulty (he pulled in front of me and stopped, it happens here in texas a lot and I was a victim, he got $12,000 for a scratch) anyway, I was injured by the air bag. I didn't know I had this overage at all when I called the ins co. to tell them about the accident in March 2005. I situation came up where I had to cal them and just last week they got the recorded statement and to tell me what coverage I had. I was surely surprised and damn sure needed the reimbursement. But her letter that has that statement on the first page says nothing about a cap of reimbursement. How do I know how to proceed?

But PI no fault, can you explain, I dont have a policy, it's been nearly two years and they're JUST NOW accepting coverage on me, they've aleady paid the person I hit. I don't understand why so late even starting this 2-year ball rolling.

Chris: I haven't got the policy, that's the problem. I need to see what my limits are bc one hand they mentioned a $2500 cap but the letter and documents she sent me regarding my "actual" limits don't have a cap. Why didn't they come forward two years ago when this acc happened? I don't have the policy and req. it 12/12 so Im in the dark. I've called and left messages but no return call. It pisses me of that I have to go thru this NOW after two years of thinking I had no coverage at all. I"ve got over $2000 in just prescriptions since the accident - is that what you would turn in, along with a paid medical bill to get reimbursement? Is it all over after that? Can't I sue my own ins co for my medicals and damages, lost wages, etc.? No one was ticketed.

It's personal injury protection. The reason why the policy itself doesn't name the limit is because you can purchase different coverage limits. Every time your policy renews you get a document that shows your limit. If you have $2500 that wouldn't be surprising- it's the minimum limit, and it would have been what you chose to carry. That's the maximum that they will pay for medical bills or lost wages incurred within three years of the accident date.

The policy contract is the document that explains what is covered, what isn't, what your duties are, and what the company's duties are. Specific coverage information is found in your policy documents that you are free to request copies of or view online if possible through your company.

The liability coverage on your car covers claims by third parties -- basically the general public at large. It does not cover the driver, and may not cover the passengers in your car.

PIP pays small medical claims for minor injuries, generally to anyone in your car including the driver. Most insurance companies also offer Medical Payments (MP) coverage that picks up where PIP leaves off.

Either or both of these may be mandatory or optional depending upon state law. It's common for them to be "mandatory options" which means you have to request in writing that they be deleted. That's a good idea if you already have comprehensive medical coverage through another source such as through your job or medicare.

If you have the coverage, the coverage limits and the cost will both be listed on the coversheet for the policy, along with all other coverage(s) that you have. It doesn't matter what anyone tells you on the phone, the coversheet rules. If it's not listed, or it's listed without a premium amount, then you do NOT have the coverage. If it has some other coverage amount (with a premium listed) then that's what you have regardless of what the phone rep tells you.

Each state has exceptional practices. In Maryland you will have to first dossier towards the Maryland registered automobile and so they will have to method the declare. If you possess a Maryland registered automobile and feature bought the ip insurance policy to hide the policyholder you might also dossier towards your enterprise. Mandatory PIP insurance policy is designed to first duvet the common public routinely enabling the landlord to decide out. Where an injured celebration would have insurance policy from a couple of resources the state ordinarily mandates which enterprise is major and that's the enterprise you need to dossier with. That most likely isn't unreasonable. You have proven a loss of expertise the traditional regulation. Your failure to file the hit and run crime to the regional police makes dealing with the estate harm and damage claims so much complicated. You might potentially have violated regional legislation. Without a police file filed inside 24 hours of the twist of fate the coverage enterprise need to settle the automobile damages as a collision declare and now not the correct uninsured-motorist declare. This robotically makes the driving force At-Fault. Consequently the coverage enterprise is precluded from settling the estate claims from their uninsured motorist budget and you have got an at-fault twist of fate to your list.
