Because we trade with or get oil from the big ones. And if we attacked them while they were awake, they might fight back.

Do you think war is about a fair fight? Get a grip, in war a fair fight is for suckers. The reason the USA does it is because the rest of the world is too chicken to even take on these police action tasks. Also, 90% of the rest of the world's armies are too can't lame to deploy themselves outside of thier own borders, so again the USA has to do the world's dirty work.

My answer to you is also in the form of a question... what "weak little country" did we go to war with? and who did we attack while they selpt... sucker punch what? Your question is a weak one at best. Do the research... Iraq and Afghanistan were and are pretty rough countries to mess with... The USSR tried to mess with afghanistan back in the day (you do know they were the other superpower in the "cold war" right) and yea they failed pretty miserably. Anyway... stop watching CNN, reading crappy blogs by stupid opinionated boobs and get some real hard facts.

We don't "go to war" with anyone. America would rather have peace. Other countries draw us into it because of an issue or a person (ie: the continued actions of Sadam Hussein when he was in power). Sometimes, the best time to attack the enemy is when they are sleeping--in war there is no courtesy. You do what you have to do to protect yourself--unfortunately, when the enemy is asleep is sometimes the best time for this to happen. Don't stop caring about people in general, but never look at war from a soft-hearted view. Think of it this way: If you were fighting, except for those from your homeland, would any enemy have sympathy for you?

If you are referring to the war in Iraq (which I assume you are) you are incorrect- pre-war Iraq possessed the fifth largest army in the world. And even if you are not- look back in history- Germany and Japan, we stared down the USSR. The other possible reason is that the major countries know that wars don't benefit anyone, and thus avoid war whenever possible. And as for the sleeping attacks- It's to minimize friendly losses. Basically, they can't kill us if their sleeping. That's why the US likes to hit them in the dark with stealth bombers and such. Public outrage over casualties is politically damaging and the President as commander in chief of the armed forces is tasked with minimizing casualties, and will hope to achieve minimal losses whenever possible.

America goes to war with these smaller countries simply because most of them are controled by idiots who say war to america and the people are usually fooled in beliving that we are the enemy,so we try to fix that.
We attack people while their down because its effective,and why not our enemies exploite our weaknesses so we kill them with theirs.

Cause if we let Saddam do what he did, no one else would do anything about it
But the main reason we went to war with Iraq.....is cause everyone thought it was a good idea.....including u.....why vote when other can think for us.

NUMBER ONE: nobody is stronger than us, and it seems we go to war with governments that are so weak the only people they can subjugate are their own citizens.
NUMBER TWO: anybody with a brain can understand that the best defense is a good offense, and there is no better attack than one your enemy never expects.
It worked for Hannibal 200 years before Christ, it worked for Washington in 1776 when he crossed the Delaware in the middle of the night, it worked for the Japanese on Dec 7, 1941, and it worked extremely well on September 11, 2001..........
