You can bring the champagne in your checked luggage, the restrictions on liquids are set for your carry on luggage. You can visit the TSA website for more information http://www.tsa.gov/

I would suggest though, that you pack the item extremely well - your luggage gets tossed around quite a bit and you wouldn't want the bottle to break!

Have a great flight!

Since you are limited to 3 ounces of liquids in zip loc containers in your carry on luggage, you will have to place it in checked baggage.

Seal each bottle in a large zip loc style bag to contain any broken glass or liquid should it explode. Flat wines are no problem for exploding, but since champagne has gas inside it may be at more risk for expansion and the cork popping out as the plane ascends. It is because of this expansion that champagne used to be recommended to be carried on.

Champagne checked in baggage is completely allowed, despite what the other answerers have said. Frankly, they are wrong and should be sorry for giving out faulty information.

We recently returned from Europe and had at least 4 bottles of champagne carefully packed in our luggage and another case of wine & champagne in its own box. We had no losses.

I went to a cite with a discussion on this and someone pointed out that since airlines serve champagne it should be OK. Someone else mentioned that they've done it before.

I would be careful and pack in the center of your bag surrounded by plenty of clothing and I would place it in an airtight bag...it may not explode but it might break it the bad its in is handled roughly.

enjoy your champagne!

When you go through security they won't let you go on they'll probably confiscate it. You can't take perfume, shampoo, shaving cream, even baby bottles with milk in it onto the plane anymore. Even if you didn't create anything lethal. They have a list of items that cannot be taken on planes..i would call the airlines and aks them if you should bring it with you in your checked baggage...so that you don't get there go through security and confiscate it and pretty much there goes that 30 dollar bottle fo champagne..

You can only carry liquids in 3oz increments on all flights now. To make sure, check with the airline before you fly. You're not going to be taking any champagne with you, that's for sure.
