What is difference between plasma and LCD, what is best system to use in a small building, bigger than a home cinema size? Do I use projection or dvd computer based system. Any ideas on who to use as a consultant in Australia etc?

projector would be the way to go - inexpensive and big screen - takes a variety of inputs either DVD or computer so you have some flexibility on programming.
Gives you the ability to hookup a satellite receiver and for pay per view etc.

your average home unit woudl do a picture 5ft high by 9ft wide

and churches are cool buildings not matter anyone says - make for great homes to - all that poen space

If you plan on charging people to view copyrighted films or TV shows, you open yourself up to legal problems. The owners of those copyrights will want to get paid for every showing. When you buy/rent for home, the initial disclaimer allows you to do this as long as it isn't done for money -- just personal use.

Of course, if you just like to party with your friends in a big room, and nobody pays you to enter or view the show, then you don't have to worry...
