You have to make a commitment to your lifetime health. There's no short cuts.

Whatever harm you do, will follow you to some degree all of your life -- if even that you only live to 72 instead of 78.

It is like smoking. If you give up 100%, you will fail.
Very SLOWLY change over to healthier foods. One trick is take your meals and cut 1/4 off and throw the 1/4 away. Once a month, cut a little more off, until you reach the point where you were eating only 1/4 of your normal meal.
I use to eat a WHOLE foot-long sub. Over 6 months I got down to a burger-size sub roll. Then no sub.
Eat every 3 hours. Eat small meals. Then you will not be hungry all the time.
Drink water when you are thirsty. Do not try to drown yourself.

And good luck. It took me 3 years to completely change my eating habits.

If you can stay on it through willpower for the first week or so, you'll begin to see and feel the results for yourself. That will then be more than enough motivation to keep going.

In the meantime, don't put yourself into situations in which you might be tempted to go back to your old eating habits. You'll be able to handle such situations later, but not initially.

It takes discipline and will-power. Find healthy foods you like that are low in calories, carbs, and fat!
Good luck!
I hope you will lose some of that unwanted weight in 2007!
