Julio Cesar Chavez "won" too many fights where he clearly should have lost... he was well protected by some referees and judges alike, probably protected by the politics of promoters. But if he had stepped into the same ring with Esteban De Jesus, one of the few boxers to beat Manos de Piedras in his prime, Chavez wouldn't have last the 15 rounds; he'd be demolished well before that. Esteban De Jesus had more than just heart and guts, he had natural talent and skills, and he could absorb punishment and give it back more than he took. Chavez got off with a few too many controversial fights to merit the unwarranted accolades hype laid on him.

Interesting match up. De Jesus would hold his own throughout the fight and score effectively. But I believe JCC's body attack would prove too much and he would win a unanimous decision.
