How is that forcing you? Throw the card away. Do not participate in Secret Santa. Say no thank you. Did anyone hold a gun to your head? Maybe you should consider seeing a psychiatrist to figure out why you are so easily offended by a kind gesture from others. Then you should look up the meanings of words before you use them. That's just my opinion.
Merry Christmas.

It is a very recent belief that Christmas has lost the 'Christ' image that is being pushed in many backwards thinking Christian faiths.
They forget that Santa Claus is Saint Nicholas, a 3rd century Christian Bishop in Myra who is the REAL Santa Claus.
As with all things forgotten about history, people draw incorrect assumptions and then 'act upon them' with the force fo their religious convictions.
It really wrecks the whole spirit of Christmas, regardless of which non-Christian celebrations it actually springs from.
A time for all good people to lay aside their petty problems and try to become for just 12 days 'better people'.

I'm a Christian and can't for the life of me figure it out. Why should it matter. If you aren't a Christian then why would you celebrate Christmas like me.
However I don't see that you should take offense if I say Merry Christmas to you. If I said Merry xmas it would not mean anything to me but if I say Merry Christmas to you it means a great deal. It would speak to hope that one day you would know the love of my Lord and Savior as I do. It would be anti-Christ of me as a Christian to act otherwise. However I would never argue with you or judge you. I used to be like you.
No I'm with you it is stupid.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.

As far as secret santa you could always say thank you but I choose not to participate as it is not my belief.
It's harder not to tell people not to give you cards so you simply have to pretty much bite the bullet and ask that they please not send you them if they bother you that much. I'm an agnostic, I send cards for the holiday but never with a religious theme to them. However, if I was asked politely not to send a particular person a card I would do so because I am not trying to offend anyone by giving them a holiday card.

If someone gave me a card while they were celebrating which ever religious holiday they are involved in, I would not be so arrogant to believe that they are somehow trying to force their religious beliefs on me. Perhaps that person is just trying to show me that they care.
If you would prefer to not participate in something, don't. No one can force you into anything that you don't want to do. (including secret Santa)

That is ok, gifts are cool for anyone. But forcing everyone, Christian or not to listen to non-stop seasonal music is just plain sadistic. No one is trying to insult you by giving you a Christmas card, it is a seasonal greeting, they are thinking of you, or do not want to exclude you. Take it in stride.
Edit. Oh, My God, Melodie, you did NOT say that Catholics are not Christians, did you?

Why don't you say some Christians? Because not ALL Christians do that, you know. Please narrow it down so people like me will not be offended.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Many non-Christians celebrate Christmas. Catholics, atheists, etc. (Note that I said MANY, not all). We don't 'force' them to partake in Christmas activites. But since a lot of the population celebrates Christmas, they don't think that they are offending anybody. Most people who don't celebrate Christmas are not offended by it. But if you are, you could politely tell them instead of blowing up. (Not that you are, but...)
Hope you understand!
In Christ, Melodie

no body is twisting your arm to participate. Are you really serious that someone is nice enough to give you a card (presumably because they like you, for which a reason escapes me at the moment) and you are going to complain?
I would say, grow up.
