I have the same problem - I think it must be a circulation problem.

Ignoring the fact that Andy K had a VERY FUNNY reply, most of the time your feelings of pins and needles is due to low metabolism. If you do aerobics, such as the step, twice a day, after a couple of weeks, the pins and needles feeling goes away.

Its not necessary carpal tunnel, i get pins and needles in my right arm in the morings. The doctor told me it was the sleeping postition of my neck on my pillow thats doing it. So ive changed pillows and its helped.
I got carpal tunnel after I had my baby nearly a year ago, its really painful and you wouldnt be able to get rid of the pins and needles just by letting the blood through if it was. You would have seen a doctor by now if it was, believe me it hurts!

My husband had this and was diagnosed with carpol tunnel syndrome. There are other symptons, but that is the main one. I had it during pregnancy too, which is common. Go to your doctor and have it checked out. I'm not a doctor, but it won't hurt to get it looked at. Good luck!

Sleeping on your hand? That's usually a sign of bad circulation, if not. It means blood is not getting everywhere it should. Talk to your doctor about it.

It could be the way your sleeping, Your probably pinching some nerves that's causing that. try before going to bed rubbing (or getting someone else :)..) your shoulders and your back getting those daily kinks out.

This happens to me alot too. If you sleep on your hand, the blood is being pushed, and is unable to flow. Your hand may be red, & it may hurt or "fall asleep". Try to not sleep on your hand, and it should help...
