Pilot Truck Stop has the Cobra 29 classic on sale for $79.99 (reg about $129.00) then take it to a cb shop and have it Peaked and Tuned (increases its power). This is just an example they have alot of good radio's on sale....

Is it possible either the ground wire for the radio is not on a clean ground (or loose) to start with. next could an Antenna be not grounding to the body? This would be my 1st things to check as both these items must have good ground and often a lost ground contact (or poor) can cause this type complaint. after that I would take it back as it could be a defective radio. Our company radios are touchy about ground connections.
