I am haveing an MRI tommorow morning and I have a friend that can legally get me my results before the doctor will be able to get them to me. Should I get them from her or wait for the doctor. I am really anxious about these test relults. I want them before the long Christmas weekend. Should I have my friend get them or should I wait for the doctor.

Knowing that these test results could be bad news what should I do?

1/2 of me sayes "find out, find out" but the other 1/2 sayes just get through the holidays and take a break from the stress of it all. but you also don't wanna start off the new year w/ bad news either...i think you should wait that way, if you hear something you don't wanna u won't be all upset 4 the holidays.

Ok, the problem is what are you going to do with the results when you do get them? Will you be able to correctly interpret them and know how they apply to your medical condition? I don't know why you're having an MRI and what your doctor is looking for, but different things may have different meanings, depending on the circumstances. I don't think that the information needs to come from your doctor exclusively, but I think there's a good chance that if you just get raw data, it may be confusing or upsetting and you may not know what it means (who's going to tell you the results, the tech?) - it's generally pretty important to get these things read by a doctor.
Personally, and I AM a doctor, I wouldn't want to get an MRI result (for myself or my patients) without having a radiologist's read, I don't know how to read them myself.

Wait for your doctor try not to stress out to much over the holidays take a break from thinking about it and just enjoy xmas when the holiday is over your doctor will contact you and give you all the information your friend might not have all the info that your doctor will and she might just confuse you more remember your doc knows your whole case and will be able to offer you support and tell you what you can do about the problem if there is one

Ps

hope you get good news

Your friend may be able to get your test results for you, but can he/she properly interpret them?

I'd definitely wait for the doctor to go over the results and get back with you. Incomplete or just plain bad info is counterproductive.

Wait for the doctor and try not to worry.

Best wishes,
