No it is not normal, intimate terms of endearment are just that. He and the co-worker are either in a relationship or are being so unprofessional that it can be perceived as a relationship by the wife and peers. talk to your hubby and see what is going on, and express your concerns.

Really depends on the guy, and whether or not you trust him. An old friend of mine, a good ol boy from Alabama, refers to every female he talks to as "Sugar." Almost 50 years without a problem he did this, never with any malice, and one twirp sued him for sexual harassment. She lost of course, but we never let him live it down, even had "Sugar Shack" lettered on his truck.
It all comes down to trust, and that is directly proportional to how well he's treated at home. Why don't YOU call him darling, sweetheart and baby some more and see what happens.

To some extent, only if you feel secure in this marriage. I call men I know sweetie, hon, whatever, it doesn't mean I want to sleep with any of them. I call it nonconcious flirting. It makes you feel like you didn't die after you got married. Now if he goes beyond calling colleagues this and starts hanging out with them all the time, I'd start to question his intentions.

I got called that all the time when I was a waitress. It is just some peoples nature and if he's married, the wife knows this about him.

In this day and age a man referrring to a female co-worker, other than his wife can be in big trouble for harrasement. It isn't professional to call a coworker anything but their name.

for some men calling every female * darling/sweet/sugar /etc* is easier than remembering names & they will often tend to call all males * mate etc*
. I knew a chap some time back who called every female *mary* & every male * John*

No, it's not ordinary. Sounds inappropriate to me. However, some people address everyone as "sweetheart" or something like this - so, I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

Some guys use those names for everyone - so if these are terms he uses regularly for women of all relations and age - fine. If not, no, it's not normal.
