Yep, water can be pretty dull...
but Tea is a diuretic (meaning it makes you lose water)
and Cranberry juice can be harmful if you are on any kind of medication for thinning your blood, etc.
Not to mention that it is full of sugar.
Try filtered water perhaps, rather than tap, and if you buy the plastic bottled kind, don't reuse the bottle too many times, it gets nasty.

Yeah water is best and here is why:

Cranberry Juice: (I'm assuming your not buying and squeezing your own craberries) most often contains a lot of sugars both natural and synthetic. This can actually dehydrate you more. Don't misunderstand, there are a lot of benifits to Cranberry Juice, and if you HAD too you could survive on it for quite sometime, but it's still not the same.

Tea: Depending on the tea you are drinking you can be ingesting small amounts of dieuretics. These actually cause your body to lose water. Its not massive and the quantities of most tea you would have to drink to have a serious problem are so massive you would probably drown first. Still, if you want to buy teas try buying herbs directly from an herbalist and whatever you do avoid instant teas in bottles, they are nothing but preservatives and chemicals.

You don't have to drink straight water. The water in cranberry juice and hot tea do count towards your total hydration for the day, but they have drawbacks. Cranberry juice cocktail has a LOT of sugar (nobody drinks straight cranberry juice; it's too sour), and that's bad for your teeth, your weight, and your blood sugar.

Tea is good, though you'd have to drink dozens of cups of tea per day to get enough hydration, and that's more caffeine than is really safe.

If you substitute herbal teas without caffeine for at least some of your tea, you should be safe. (Orange teas, spice teas, mint teas, etc. can be drunk about as much as you can stand.) You can also try thinning your cranberry juice with water; I find them too sweet as they come anyway.

You only need to drink when you are thirsty.
Try water with those mixes such as Whylers lemonaid 1 calorie mix. Cranberry juice has too much sugar. Tea has too much caffine.

Hope this helps.

Cranberry juice and some kinds of teas are diuretics. That means you'll be peeing out more than you take in, and will get dehydrated.
