If you are using a poor quality food (anything from the grocery store) your cat is HUNGRY. No matter what amount you feed it is inadequate nutrition for a cat as it is 2/3 corn.

Get a high quality food such as Solid Gold, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, CA Natural, Felidae etc. She will be more satisfied with that as opposed to a diet of corn. There are many good foods out there now and they are NOT Iams, Purina, Science Diet etc.

I feed my cats once a day. The way I was told to determine how much, was to put some food out for them, say one cup, let them eat, and when they are done, measure how much is left. My cats get 1/2 cup of food once a day. I have one that is older and not as active, she gets 1/4 cup a day. And I am using measuring cups from the kitchen, to be consistent.

my cat gets half a can of wet food mixed with 1/4 cup dry food daily, and is 11 lbs. my other cat is very tiny and at her healthy weight is 7 lbs. she gets 1/3 cup dry food daily. ask your vet about your kitty's ideal weight. then feed according to package directions. if your cat starts gaining too much weight, cut back a little, and vice versa. an overweight cat shouldn't lose more than 2 lbs in a month though. My cats would keep eating and eating if i kept feeding them. i split their daily ration and give half in the am and half at night when we eat dinner. They only get antsy for food around thse times- because that's when they expect to eat.

Perhaps she's asking for attention? A full cup is MORE than enough for a full grown cat (usually, that's about twice the recommended amount.)

My cats get 3/4's of a cup of dry food, or a full packet of wet food every day.

i feed my cat 2 a day 1 in the morning & 1 at night. give her a little over a half a cup in the morning & half a cup at night. the reason you only give her a half a cup at night is because she uses more energy during the day.

You should only feed your cat a 1/2 to a cup a DAY. If you over feed your cat...he will get spoiled and will demand more food and become overly fat and will have a shorter life.

My cats get morning bikkis, nightime bikkis, and a spoonful of tinned meat in the evening. They also get scraps from the table. It doesnt matter how much they get, they will always beg for more. Having set feeding times, breakfast, dinner, and supper, they have learned to only beg at those times of day.
