I am a very strong Catholic, but I do not normally believe stuff like "the devil made me do it". However, I read somewhere in a book that the 20th century was a century given to the devil by God.

Apparently, the devil told God that, if he could have greater power over mankind, they would turn away from God. God gave him a century to do this so God could prove him wrong.

If this is true, does this mean that we may become a moral nation once again? That we may someday end abortion and homosexuals will no longer be mainstream to society?

Or are we doomed to live in a society where anyone's morals can be changed by some really good convincing?

The 20th century is truly the century of light.
With the application of light in the computer, we see more evils throughout the world, but in the same time none among us can record all the good things such as higher civilization, broader cooperation in globalization, advancement in various scientific, artistic, social fieds and so on.
And the 21rst century is the century of inevitable WORLD PEACE.

If you are a "strong Catholic", you probably wouldn't be believing some book that is not based on Catholic teaching. Does this book have an imprimatur? Can you cite Scripture or Catholic teaching for this belief? I think that there has been lots of evil and lots of good in every century.

I think you got the book of Job and modern days a bit confused. That's the only time God ever gave the Devil power to do what he wanted to God's man-just to one. There is nothing int he Bible about a specific time that the devil will have free reign-except after the rapture. Which if its after the rapture- wow- there's a bunch of us who didn't make it. Continue praying for our country that God will make a difference in the life of His followers as we share His love.

When morals start being based on the facts of reality, instead of antiquated fairy-tales we'll be moral again.
