he had a small cut between his toes and walked around the back yard barefoot. started as a small red area about the size of dime on top of the foot between the first 2 toes. redness spread quickly - we thought it was a spider bite. Fever of 103 - body aches - just like really bad flu - 4days later, and visit to doctor, antibiotics, 3 days later no better - neck was hurting very bad - face started to droop on one side - looked like stroke, off to hospital, IV bag of antibotics, off to CCU - all kinds of tests, finally infectious diease doc came in - "you have strep in your toe"
NOT staph - strep. All is well - PS he has never been sick in the last 24 years, not a diabetic.
