Instead on feeling guilty about it ask yourself "what other things am i good at?" If you finally figured what really interests you (i think you did already that's why you quit the swim club, duh!) then that way you can focus in improving yourself at it. Then, this way your parents will be able to see your talents other than swimming. Assure them that quitting the swim club is worth it and you would not disappoint them. It takes time and a lot of extra effort to do this though, but be patient. Goodluck!

Its probably that whole finish what you start routine.
You can always say, "You did have a swimmer around here...Now you have a loving child that is no longer wet behind the ears"!
Tell them how much you hated it, but didn't realize you hated it until you tried it. And thank them for understanding and being such compassionate parents... Then quick find another activity to get involved in to replace it.

Give them an honest answer as to why you quit swimming. Your parents are probably curious why you stopped doing something they believed you enjoyed. They are just looking out for you. They want you to be happy.Give them some idea what that might be.

If this was your decision their is no reason to feel guilty because if it is something you don't want do you shouldn't have to. Parents usually like to live through their children. Though swimming is good exercise, it isn't something required to live. Though it sounds like your parents are kidding with, I believe it would help to tell your parents why you felt like quiting the swim club and explain to them that though it may be something they like it wasn't something you enjoyed. Also explain to them how it hurts you to hear them tell you things like this, most parents don't enjoy putting their children through pain. Remember it is your life and not theirs to control.

Hey, I can relate to that...kinda. Don't worry about it, your parents will get over it. If they don't, You can ask them why they're so upset about it, and maybe you can talk it over. Remember: They want the best for you and want you to be happy and have fun.
