We also have a perspective on religion and spirituality.

Personally, the psychology of religious beliefs fascinates me. I just can't understand it, so I just keep exploring it more and more.

Because we know enough about religion to have a decided opinion on the existence of 'god'.

And it's a cool place to talk with other people who know something about religions without getting sucked into it. Some of the Christians here are solid people that I admire.

Of course, there is the car-wreck aspect of it. The creative machinations that some of the Creationists and evangelicals will go to in twisting evolutionary theory and such to their own ends is astonishing. It's definitely an education in what mis-education can do to some people.

because the R&S has become a hot bed for religious psychotics. a cursory look of the Q&A will tell you most of the participators ridicule and spew venom against other religions.christians in the pseudonyms of muslims criticise islam and hindus in the pseudonyms of muslims and christians put questions with an intention to hurt the sentiments of muslims and christians. some times the atheists have to enter and give advice to the believers not to hurt the sentiments of followers of other religions.

No, it's not always because something is missing in their life. Let me say one more time, this section isn't only for religious or spiritual people. The heading means only that your question should be based on one of these topics. I come here because sometimes you guys (Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, everyone who comes here) give me food for thought, and sometimes you make me LMAO! I never know what I'm going to get on any given day, and I like surprises!

I would imagine so that they can refute any misconceptions about who they are or what they do/don't believe. If they didn't browse the site, people could say anything they wanted about athiests, and some people reading might actually believe a whole slew of lies about them.

If religious and spiritual are adjectives that refer to people who sincerely seek the truth, those who use reason and logic belong here, while those who are content to imagine fictional characters belong in the arts and entertainment section.

Because they have the right to be here. Our constitution made sure of that.

Is anyone out there afraid to be educated. Maybe one atheist can make one fundie use their brain. That is a good thing.

I do it because religion has forced it's way into the law-making process of my country, and I'm sick of it. I want to do my best to make sure people see religion for the antiquated bull#%$ that it is.
