You're so upset with humanity, but it's unnecessary. You might as well blame yourself for not being born in the future.

I'm not so sure they do (think that religion has nothing to do with human development). Morality emerged as a brake mechanism to slow down the rapid growth that emerged from the development of reasoning skills. It grew out of empathy, which was a fundamental part of what allowed humans to become social animals. Religion grew out of morality, so it's totally a part of human development.

I don't see how atheists are upset with humanity though...

Well, its a normal part of maturation. Like when you were 8 and your parents thought it was okay to believe in Santa Claus. But, when you're 25ish your parents think that you have problem and try to correct you. But you refuse to realized the truth..That isn't natural. At a certain age people have to grow up, which is natural in human development. And religion is like Santa Claus except a lot of people believe it until their deaths.

... huh? Why do you think that the development of religion has something to do with the course of human development?

I'm not upset with humanity, I'm upset with some of the idiots in humanity.

Oh, I think Religion does have everything to do with early human development. But we're not primitives anymore, so it's time to let it go.

No one is upset with humanity. Many Atheists consider ourselves to be secular humanists. I have every wish to do all I can to help humanity.

Really, it's you who sounds angry and embittered. Maybe you should open your eyes to your other religious options?

Part of human development.....kind of like how stone tools were part of human development. The more advanced we get, the less we need stoneage concepts like stone hammers and religion.

It has everything to do with the natural world. This is what humans do to stay active. Once you have technology, religion loses its passion. Everything was meant to be.

I think religion has been around almost as long as modern man has been around. I recognize and acknowledge that. It doesn't mean we should sit back and let this ingrained ignorance survive.
