well, that is exactly why they aren't refundable. The percentage of brides that either change their mind, cancel the wedding, change sizes or get pregnant after buying the dress is astounding and most bridal stores would go under if they offered refunds.
That being said - you could try selling it. Another option that has worked for some of my brides who were 5-7 months along - find a local seamstress that has some experience with wedding gowns and see if the gown can be altered to a tie back style. It depends on the back of the dress mostly, but a tie back that goes low (ending below the panty line, but with a flap under so one one can see your underwear) will allow your to let out the dress a fair bit to accomodate the baby. This does not work for all dresses - but if it has a fairly simple back, with a empire or princess waist - it works wonderfully.

Wedding dresses are not refundable because usually they are made to order, meaning they make samples to send out to the stores to try on, and then don't mass produce the dress. As they get orders for a specific dress they are made. As far as Ebay goes - you can find unbelievable dresses on Ebay!! I bought my dress on Ebay and got a European designer I would never have been able to afford otherwise for 1/3 of the cost. It was brand new, never worn, never altered. You can sell your dress on ebay and use the money to buy a new one!

Did you try to exchange the dress for a bigger size. I am sure you could sell it on Ebay. Do a search for wedding dresses and see what comes up. If not put an ad in a local paper.

Because they're a one-time wear; if they were returnable, many (careful) women would use it and then return it.
And yes, you can buy/sell almost anything on Ebay. You won't get your money back, though, so be prepared to take a loss.

Why can't you exchange it, move the wedding date up. My best friend had the same problem and she just moved the wedding date up...

once it has been altered they would have a harder time trying to sell it...it is no longer just like the others on the rack.
