I have medium dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, a tan skin color, and I'm a shorty. I wanted to have a highlight, but don't know what color. My friend suggested me to highlight my hair caramel. I don't know what to do, please help me!

Short, of course, has nothing to do with it, but given your coloring, it sounds like your friend knows what she/he is talking about. A caramel would be a very good color. Actually, if you can afford it, go for two shades in that color. Anything pale and platinum-y is just going to make you look like a cheap ho. You want to maintain a classy look. Go for the caramel girl!

I think highlights look good on everyone if they are the right color. Caramel sounds like a perfect color. I have my hair highlighted. My hair is a light brown to a dirty blond color and I have blond highlights. The only thing is that because your hair is dark they would use bleach to lighten it, which could cause your hair to become dry.

Highlight it something that isn't too noticable, but will bring out your best features. If highlights look fake, they look cheap.

Happy Holidays!

well from your description caramel streaks would look really cute in your hair, but no blonde if that ever came to a thought.
