There is absolutely no correct etiquette for that one! Perhaps your co-worker suffers from irritable bowel syndrome or some other gastroentestinal disorder and can't help the way there feces smells. Those are truly embarassing enough for the co-worker without someone like you telling them about it. Believe me, they already know.

I bet your poop doesn't smell like flowers.

The better question is, "Why am I smelling my co-worker's poo?" If you feel absolutely compelled to tell them that it stinks, I would use interpretive dance.

I would just buy a nice can of air freshener in the bathroom and make an offhand comment about how great it smells in there now. If you are friends with said coworker, make fun of them, otherwise leave it. Your poo smells bad too.

Please do not say anything to your co-worker. They probably already know. Buy a can of Oust or Lysol Neutra-Air and leave it in the restroom. If you notice an odor, use it. I am sure your other co-workers will employ the same strategy to create a better smelling bathroom.

And you're going to tell them in the hopes that they can control how their poo smells and change it to a nice smell that you can better tolerate?
It's like telling someone you hate the color of their eyes. Why tell someone something they have no control over?
