Just a thought.

There are lots of ways to sell your car without strange people showing up at your door. First never give your address until you've of course made a potential deal. Other than that place an add in the Auto Trader, Ebay, Craig's List, List it at your work or school, or church. I see cars on the side of streets all the time. But regardless when you are ready to make a deal have the potential buyer meet you at a mall or some neutral place like that where there will be witnessess. Good Luck.

Call up or stop by dealerships in your area. Some will buy cars as trade-in's without anything being bought.

Just don't expect top dollar cause they will have to make a profit to be willing to sell it.

Otherwise you could ask a local business if you can park it in their lot. Like the edge of a grocery store lot or Kmart. Many people park their cars there already with for sale signs in them. Just park it there, run an ad in autotrader and put a sign with all info in details in the window. otherwise just set up appointments to meet them at the car, not your house.

Many towns of some size have lots where you can park the vehicle with your pertinent info affixed to a side glass for potiential buyers to peruse at their lesiure, these lots usually charge by the month, usually in the $20.00-$40.00 range. you usually pay for a month, up front, whether you use it all or not, though. Also try the auto trader, newspaper, or other media. As a last resort, try an auto auction, although you will recieve much less cash by choosing this method, as buyers are usually dealers looking to turn quick money, and you have to pay the auctioneer also. Good luck, I hope this helps. burts chevy.

when a caller responds to your ad have them meet you at a public place and never meet alone bring a friend who stays a short distance away and discreetly follows you on test drives and the both of you should have working cell phones with 911 on speed dial if things start looking iffy, these rules are applicable to both buyer's and sellers the biggest thing is to let people you know when you expect to be back and to call the authorities if you arn't.

If you want to sell it, you have to have prospective buyers come to you. If you don't, try selling it to a dealer, but you won't get as much, probably.

If you live around a CARMAX they buy your car from you. You go to them they look over it and tell you how much they will give you and you have a few days to decide.
