Could it be he just really misses you?
Have you changed you're schedule lately? And maybe he's just not used to that yet.
If your'e in a cold climate, maybe getting alittle less exercise from being in a cold climate is leaving him alittle bored? Or just lonely?
Best to check it out with a vet, though. Just to make sure.

doesn't make sense. He could be doing it because lonely,or sad. Did something happen that you don't know or have you been with him a lot lately? Dogs sometimes know that someone died before we do. One of my friends was taking care of a dog and the dog was whimpering because she new something was wrong with her master. Her master was in a car accident. She is ok now but it was a shock. Maybe I don't know if nothing helps call a vet it will cost you nothing. But give the dog TLC. A lot of it. Hope this helps

Take him to the vet and have him checked out. It might be nothing, but then again, if he whimpers all the time, it could be something serious.

you never know if he is hurt and maybe if he is you might want to check him over and if you do not find nothing wrong and he keeps on whimpering you should take him to the veterinary.

There could be many problems, or for that matter, none at all.
But, my suggestion is to take him/her to your local veternary office and have it checked out, and if you havent gone to the vet lately, you can get it its vacinations too!

If it really concerns you, take him to the vet.
It's possible that he may just be trying to get attention.
My grandma's daschund whines all the time, even though there's nothing wrong with him.

Call the vet and ask. (If he is by the door he may need to "Do his business.")
