Since you say of all times I assume it's a relative
question. Compared with the other planes of its
time I'd opt for the Messerschmitt 262. I don't think
any plane before or after it was so much ahead of
its time. And no plane ever influenced the development
of a whole industry more than this one. The F86 i.e.
was mainly based on captured 262s.

blah, blah, f-14, f-18... blah, blah. sure... right.
The F-18 isn't that superior to the F-16 in my opinion. The F-14 was better, but it's still dwarfed by the performance of the F-15 in its various models. Joint Air Commanders are generally briefed that their best fighter asset is going to be the F-15.
As to the F-22, projection has it as better than the F-15, especially considering the fact that it's got low radar profile (ie, almost stealthy)

This is a very subjective question and you will get a ton of different answers I bet.
Based on Janes reading I have done, the best modern warfare all weather fighter would be the FA-18 Hornet in it's many iterations. My personal favorite is the F-4 Phantom only because of personal reasons.

F-22 by far.. Most versatile, fastest, most advanced, best all weather hostile penetrator, a true force multiplier.. It has redifined the way the USAF projects air power. The F-15 reigned in air superiority, now we have the air dominance fighter.
