I know that I am going to gain a few from all the chocolate but I'm not worried, I teach skiing and I'll lose the weight and more before the season ends..... it's christmas time that means big meals and lots of sweets

I've put on a stone in the last year, whilst my wife was pregnant and had a baby, and will try and lose it, but I don't see any point in trying over the christmas period as there is too much temptation. I will go all out with chocolate and peanuts until the the new year.

'm absolutely dreading it - all the treats and things to tempt you! The only thing that i'm worried about is family forcing food upon me! Saying 'it's Christmas' - to me it's no excuse i need to watch what im eating to keep on track! I will loosen up a bit though but look out January! I will reach my goal weight if it kills me!Haha(Im sure i've been saying that for the last 3 years at least!). So I'll be careful and hope i dont gain loads, good luck to all during this awful time for dieters!hahaha. merry christmas!

Well, despite my best intentions, I gained some during Thanksgiving and had to work hard to get rid of it. So I am really worried this time. The mistake that I committed was to eat desserts....no desserts this time.

Careful. I eat to live, not live to eat anymore.
I'm going to do the same as I did for Thanksgiving. One dinner plate filled but not heaping or overflowing with a sample of everything with two scoops of what I know I like, less of what I don't like. Eat slowly with small bites: Chew my food well, enjoy conversation.. (NO REFILLS)
Drink water or tea. (REFILLS OK)
One serving desert.
Take a walk after eating. That way, it only took me only 1 1/2 days after the meal to return to normal weight.

I will put on weight Christmas, but watching what I eat will help me not to put too much on, a New years resolution should help
if I can stick to it

Of course you have to be a little worried if you decided to go all out this year and then next year and then next year you would get quite unhealthily fat............some people eat like they have never seen food in their life..........

sod it - i intend to have a nice xmas without worrying about daft things like that ! i'll think about things like how much weight i've gained, and diets, after the new year. i think we deserve to be able to forget about counting calories for at least a couple of weeks in the year !
