It all depends, just like bacteria. Have a more specific 'kind' of virus in mind?

Note that there are many types of viruses that cause cold symptoms. There is no *one* single "common cold". However, human rhinoviruses (HRV) are probably most common.

Cold viruses can be stored almost indefinitely in a cryogenic (liquid nitrogen) state.

Recent studies show that a 20-min treatment at 45 degrees C is effective in suppressing HRV multiplication by more than 90% when applied at specific stages of the virus replication cycle.

It depends. For example "legionella" lives between 12gr Celsius an 38gr Celsius. It is the most found in bathrooms.
