Why do we make a "lip-smacking" sound when kissing closed-mouth?

We do make the sound; it doesn't happen on its own ...

The lip smacking sound is because during a closed mouth kiss, usually one doesn't just brush the lips up against someone or place the lips against them, but presses the lips into them.

Because its a polite way of being (or acting ) close without the physical gush! Sometimes you so dont want to touch bits!!
