ive seen this a couple of times in ladies that i know.. i wanted to know if it had any meaning...the first tattoo is a chinese symbol meaning love that is right by the belly button area, and the outline of a heart is in the much lower area on opposite side of love symbol...

It is just what they picked. I AM Chinese and have the love symbol tattooed on me as well as others, there is no significance to placement.

Eh, please don't get Chinese symbols unless the language or culture has significant meaning to you. Otherwise it just looks silly. Get something with meaning hun. There are plenty of religious symbols that aren't Chinese. You could get a crucifix or a bible passage. As for the pain, I've had a thigh tattoo, and I've got to say it really wasn't bad. My nipple piercing actually hurt more, if only for a much shorter time. But keep in mind that it's different for everyone.

i guess it means they wanted a tattoo near their hip. placement of most tattoos have no meaning. it's just where the person wanted to put it.

It means they aren't very original. Or they got their tattoo before the kanji craze of 1999.
