I think it's because Christians are crazed zealots trying to save everyone from eternal damnation. I feel that some Christians are pious, condescending.

Hello,
We as humans are all in titled to our belief, just as you are a non believer, I'm a believer. So with that mouthful out of the way, we believe it's our duty to Share the good news about Jesus Christ with others, but there are tactful ways in doing it. It is NOT a Christians place to judge or condemn anyone . We are to share, plant the seeds of knowledge but it's that individuals right to decide to make it grow or discard it. Do some research into history and just see what archaeological finding have been found that the Bible tells about and then make your own decision. Another thought, I don't know what relationship to you if any this Christian was that tried to recruit, convert or condemn you but it their mind and heart they were doing it out of love, and they may have taken your rejection personal. Good luck to ya.

ALthough i may not agree with the atheist or christian standpoint: Christians feel the need to recruit convert and condemn anyone enlightened because they are jealous that people have learned to live without thier religion/relationship.

Like many faiths such as Islam, the Mormons etc, Christians have a duty to spread their faith throughout the world. It is a controversial position nowadays as previous attempts at conversion have often involved a simultaneous destruction of local cultures and traditions. Hopefully, our approach is much more sensitive and tactful in these more enlightened (!!!!!!) times.
P.S. Only someone of limited intellect or extreme arrogance could look at the detail and sophistication of the natural order and claim that there is no God.

That is a conclusion biased with the assistance and resistance of the devil. We believe as Christians, we are the ambassodors of Christ Himself and therefore carry the burden together with Him to let you have a taste of the Kingdom as all you have known is the humble lifestyle which is so heavy and yet so empty.
We therefore beseech you by the mercies of God, our dear bretheren that you consider this invitation very seriously while it is still called day and while there is still sufficient Grace to take you in. Gone will be the days when the end is nigh when you would wish for the earth to open up and swallow you or beg the lion to eat you alive. Such will be impossible as there will be so much terror and gnashing of teeth, yet still there will be no one to attend to your need. God is real and all that was said according to His Word shall come to pass. I pray that you may come to this realisation and do not hesitate to email me back for a further understanding of this truth which is so despised. May God bless you.

I would suppose for the same reason you feel the need to Make us believe that there is no God. Aren't you trying to convert to the Agnostic view? Why don't you just drop it and carry on with your life.I choose to believe and you choose not to believe. I don't pressure anyone! And I don't want non-believer to try to pressure me! I have never pressured anyone. However I am always ready to answer questions and to help people find the answers if they want. I am always willing to pray for people if they want! You'd be surprised at how many so called non-believers will turn to God when the going gets rough.Have a Good day!

Because we don't want you to burn in hell for all eternity. I don't think that you are enlightened in saying there is no God. I think you have closed your mind to the possibility that there is a God who created you, loves you no matter what you do or what you believe about Him, and wants the best for your life. And please don't generalize all Christians on some bad experiences you might have had.

I can't believe you even asked that question. I think the best person would be open to any and all beliefs...you are being just as close-minded as you are accusing Christians of being because you think you are right...A Christian believes in God and eternal salvation for the soul etc etc. so of course they want to help everyone they can find everlasting life, as well. And its so easy...all we have to do is believe that Jesus is our Saviour and be good people--is that really so hard?
You couldn't stand by and let somebody jump off a bridge, could you? It's the same thing.

There is no God. There is only religion. Religion is only here to control. The more people a religion can control, the more powerful the religion becomes. Hence the frequent recruitment drives of all religions.

All religions feel threatened when asked to defend their faith, and the best defense is attack. But to say there is no God, is simply a narrow minded view.
I prefer to think that there may be some form of a god, but that god is not the one which has been created in our image - the one that most major religions try to sell to me. I also acknowledge the Torah, Bible and Koran as very good guide books - they may be guided by some God, however, they were written by men, and edited by some very political parties, so I don't buy into the 'word by word' rote learning of them.

Not condemning you, brother! Some christians feel they will not deserve Heaven unless they help save (convert) lots of other human beings... A lot of them go the wrong way about it, in their eagerness. Let them live... Peace with you.
