Every time i hit enter a "P" appears. It's the type of P to signify a paragraph break, everytime I hit the spacce bar a dot appears, etc. All the docs I open are in this format!! I really need this to stop as soon as possible! Thank you very much!

It's not that all the documents you open are in this format; rather, it's that you've chosen a program option that displays invisible characters. This can be very useful to make sure that you haven't typed extra spaces or paragraph breaks, but the previous answerer is absolutely right about how to turn it off if you want to. There may also be a toolbar button with a paragraph mark (¶) on it; that will toggle the same option.

Click Tools -> Options and under the "View" tab uncheck the buttons under the formatting marks area.

If it bothers you that much, you can always undo it by deselecting it on the standard tool bar, just click the little "P" that appears and problem solved. But if you can become accustomed to it, the characters won't come out on your printed documents :)
