Ok first of she has dementai and emphysema but I'm trying to find out why is she hallucinating her oxygen been on all day she been taking medicine, Oh Yeah to remind you she is 83 yrs old. She'll get up thinking she out somewhere but shes really home.

P.S. I'm only 18 and been doing this for 2 days in a row

It's part of the dementia and aging process.

I worked in a convalescent hospital for 2 years.

Just make sure she's safe at home, in the house. That she doesn't wander outside.

Also, make sure she's properly hydrated, and not in any pain (hard part about this one, is that you don't always know by asking, they can tell you no, but still really be hurting), and that she is having normal frequent bowel movements. These are the most common problems with the elderly that cause increased hallucinations.

I know it's hard, and I know it hurts... but, it's all part of the process.

It always made me happy when my patients thought they were somewhere else, 'cause they always happened to be somewhere between 18-25 years old in their minds. Their children were always very young, and it was always a good time. They didn't know they were old and sick.
