How in the hell would you know what you would like be if you were divine? That is obviously why he is God and you are you. We obviously worship him because it is gratitude for all that he has given us, our homes, our loved ones, our source of income, who do you think these things come from? Didn't your mother teach you anything about gratitude? Maybe you should go to church sometime, that is one of the first lessons you learn as a child. Besides he is a loving God, he is our Heavenly Father, he created us because he loves us and wanted us to have earthly experiences.

I don't think he created us just so he would have servants of eternal praise, I think it's man who has given us that idea. I do think he deserves thanks for the planet and the fact we exist, you could argue the fact that we never asked to be created but I know I'd rather be here than not. Man has made religion out of fear and the needy. I think god would be happy in just knowing that what he has done for us is appreciated in our (I know this sounds cheesy) hearts. I do not blame him for starvation or bad things that happen god created us all with a mind of our own to use the planet and do our best with it. There are plenty of things that could be put right on this planet if certain people would buck their ideas up.

Yes, I've always found that side of "god" childish and annoying.
Surely he'd be better off concentrating on relieving starvation in Africa, rather than worrying about what gay people are getting up to in their spare time. Or caring who turns up in church on Sunday to tell him he's the greatest.
Let's face it, if you met someone like that you wouldn't invite him to dinner, would you? Let alone acknowledge him as lord and master.
There may well be a god, but he's really not very good at the job, is he?
Under current employment legislation I think there are good grounds for issuing a final written warning.

The God portrayed in the Bible is VERY petty. I believe the Bible itself describes God as jealous and spiteful. Any God that would turn his own people into pillars of salt or ask one of them to sacrifice their own son for his sake is petty. That's why I don't believe in the God that's portrayed in the Bible. I do believe in a higher power, a God if you will, but the one I believe in is forgiving, understanding, and truly has unconditional love.

God created people in his own image, to share and enjoy Creation. He wanted people who would choose to be with Him rather than be forced to in any way. Worshiping God is for our sakes, not God's. It is so that we remember who God is and what He has done for us. After all, if you do something good for someone, don't you want them to appreciate it?

I find this a very interesting question.
I believe that religious people worship so that they can feel spiritually connected with their God. I don't think it's about making Him feel good.

Well I think God didn't create us 2 worship him b coz God wanted to share his land and everything with us and he wanted to see what we think of it!
And God created us humans to keep an eye on us and to see that was it a mistake to create us and to see different personalities!
So my answer is a NO i'm afraid!
sorry!
Merry Christmas!

Voltaire said; If there wasn't a God it would be necessary to invent one and so we did. God isn't petty, we are.

Bigger than what? if there is nothing beneath you, how can you possible compare yourself to anything else. God only created man because he had nothing else to do, and he was bored with playing with the goddesses!
