I have always been into drawing and I decided I want to take my art to the canvas. I think that the best way for me to start off would be with acrylics. Altough, I honestly know very little at all.

I got back into acrylics this summer after a long break and honestly, I couldn't find much on the internet at all. You're actually better off checking out books on painting from the library and photocopying the important parts (like lists of basic colors and stuff.) There are a few tutorials online, and I linked to one place that links to a bunch:

I've posted links below.

I'd also recommend using Corel Painter IX with a Wacom Tablet. You can probably get it for fairly cheap now -- maybe $100 or $150 (I paid $300 or $400 when it first came out). It's very close to the real thing. It's excellent for practice, experimentation, because mistakes are not permanent.

acrylics are a great beginning for painters. i LOVE acrylics, and they are the easiest to work with. u'll eventually get to play with mediums and interferences, but for now, stick with the basics. i recommend Basic paints.
